GSA awards Anchorage's Katmai Integrated Solutions $29,691 for two Florida courthouse repairs
Anchorage-based Katmai Integrated Solutions won two more federal courthouse repair contracts in Florida this month, worth a combined $29,691. The General Services Administration awarded both to the company, which the Ouzinkie village corporation near Kodiak owns through Katmai.
GSA awarded $23,446 on Monday to replace the main fire backflow system at the Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse in Jacksonville. Work runs through Nov. 30.
Three days earlier, GSA awarded $6,245 to repair a bus bar and faulty circuit breaker panel at the Sam Gibbons U.S. Courthouse in Tampa, after an electrical short. That runs through March 8, 2027.
A larger award of $209,298, beginning Sept. 18, covers cooling tower repairs at the Golden Collum courthouse in Ocala.
Federal records list 242 awards to the company, 225 since 2023, most under one agreement covering nine Florida buildings that runs to May 31, 2028. Its GSA schedule contract runs to Oct. 25, 2028.
The company is Alaska Native corporation-owned and self-certified as disadvantaged, in the 8(a) program, the Small Business Administration's program for socially and economically disadvantaged firms. In 2019 the Government Accountability Office told Congress it found persistent weaknesses in SBA's oversight of such firms, and that SBA had since acted on many recommendations.
