Keep It Alaska, a group that spent all its money backing Dave Bronson in the 2024 Anchorage mayoral runoff, filed amended campaign reports Tuesday to comply with orders from the Alaska Public Offices Commission. Bronson, a former Anchorage mayor, is on Tuesday's ballot for governor.

In September 2025, the commission found the group broke state disclosure law. It left Bronson's name out of its group name and its paid-for-by disclaimers, filed incomplete reports on its spending and skipped a required statement of contributions, according to the commission's order.

Commissioners voted 5-0 to fine the group and its chair, Joel Borgquist, $4,225, down from a possible $33,800. They cited its status as a first-time filer and said one penalty was out of proportion to the harm, but they did not reduce the penalties for leaving Bronson's name off. In January, the commission also ruled that groups must report how much each original donor gave.

A second complaint, from David Long, led to a June order finding the group's descriptions of payments to three consulting and advertising firms incomplete. That penalty was $2,000, reduced from $25,125.

The amended reports now spell out what those firms did. Denali Strategies, MobiBiz Marketing and Red Dirt Campaigns were paid for fundraising calls, video production, Facebook ads, opposition research and video marketing. The group raised about $17,260 and spent about $16,100 between late March and early May 2024, in the weeks before the runoff.

Its amended year-end report, covering 2024 through Feb. 1, 2025, lists about $21,300 in income and about $21,400 in spending, and a $3,000 donation to the Alaska Voter Coalition in December 2024.
