Fairbanks job fair Sept. 24 brings retail, grocery, restaurant and bank recruiters

Job seekers can meet employers Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Fairbanks Job Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced the fair Wednesday.

It is in person at the Fairbanks Regional Office Building, 675 7th Ave., which houses the job center, and covers retail, grocery, restaurant and banking. Fred Meyer, Walmart, McDonald's, Raising Cane's, Key Bank and Northrim Bank are among the employers on the flyer, which tells job seekers to bring a resume or print copies there. It is the first of seven fairs the center has scheduled through May, each on the last Thursday of the month. The next, a general fair on Oct. 29, moves to the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center.

Unemployment insurance claimants must register in AlaskaJobs to keep their benefits. Browsing the portal as a guest does not meet that requirement.
