Fairbanks firm gets $9,628 order for UPS and Inergen work at Boston federal courthouse

The General Services Administration's Public Buildings Service obligated $9,628 to Fairbanks-based KCORP Technology Services on Oct. 27 for a UPS and Inergen project at Boston's John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse, according to the federal award record. The record lists the sum as obligated, meaning committed to the work, not yet spent.

GSA lists the firm as owned by an Alaska Native corporation. Alaska News reported Aug. 31 that the company is owned by four villages on the Koyukuk River and runs the Boston courthouse under a $31.6 million agreement.

The new order falls under that agreement, a blanket purchase agreement. That is a standing contract that lets an agency issue repeated orders without rebidding each one. The Public Buildings Service's New England office awarded KCORP the agreement in June 2022, covering facilities maintenance and management at the courthouse. The work was set aside for small businesses, and five companies bid.

Most orders under the agreement are small repair jobs. In late summer, KCORP received orders for emergency repairs to two boilers, an emergency air-conditioning motor replacement, a heat pump replacement and drain repairs on the 10th floor, as Alaska News reported Aug. 27. Other orders have been far larger: a January 2026 facilities-maintenance order was worth up to $3.35 million, with work running through Jan. 31, 2027. KCORP also holds a September order worth up to $12,209 for a Boston Intellectual Property Law Association event at the courthouse.

The award record lists a performance period of Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026, which ended before the order was signed. The record gives a potential end date of Oct. 31.
