Anchorage police are asking the public to help find Malik Muhammad, a 9-year-old boy reported missing Monday in Eagle River.

Malik was last seen about 7:56 pm Monday in the 17000 block of Toakoana Way in Eagle River, according to the Anchorage Police Department. Police said he was not wearing shoes.

Police describe Malik as 4 feet 6 inches tall and about 80 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his right cheek from a surgery.

When he was last seen, he was wearing a gray zip-up jacket with a black smiley face pattern, black pants and black socks.

Anyone with information on where Malik is should call APD Dispatch at 911. The department's case number is 26-28795.

Police have asked for the public's help finding several children in Anchorage this fall. On Oct. 26, Alaska News reported that APD was searching for 10-year-old twins Josiah and Joshua Wright, last seen near East Northern Lights Boulevard. On Oct. 9, police asked for help finding 14-year-old Luna Thompson, last seen near the 7000 block of Linden Circle.

Police also sought 15-year-old Kaylene Fitzpatrick, last seen in the Fairview area on Oct. 16, and 13-year-old Jay Moriwaki, last seen Sept. 23 near the 1600 block of Vashon Circle.

Some of those searches ended quickly. On Oct. 7, police located 13-year-old Isaac Allbritton the same day they asked for help finding him.
