Anchorage police ask for help finding Evon Petluska, 78, a vulnerable adult

Anchorage police asked the public Friday to help find Evon Petluska, a 78-year-old man the department describes as a vulnerable adult.

Petluska was last seen Thursday after he was discharged from the Alaska Native Medical Center, according to police. He was wearing a navy-blue puffer jacket, black pants and gray shoes with white soles.

Police ask anyone who knows where he is to call Anchorage Police Dispatch at 3-1-1, option 1, or 907-786-8900, then press 0. Tips can be made anonymously through the Anchorage Crime Stoppers website, AnchorageCrimeStoppers.com. Details are in the department's missing-person alert.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety says there is no mandatory waiting period to report a missing person in Alaska. Reports can be filed right away, regardless of age or circumstances, according to the department's second-quarter 2026 missing-persons report.
