Anchorage man arrested after walking armed, drunk on Funny River Rd

Multiple drivers swerved to avoid a man walking armed and intoxicated down the middle of Funny River Road near Soldotna late Friday. Alaska State Troopers arrived around 11:20 pm after reports of a man standing in the travel lane near mile marker 12.

Troopers identified the man as Garrett Andrews, 22, of Anchorage. Andrews told troopers he had wandered from a nearby campsite while looking for a friend.

Troopers noted that Andrews was intoxicated and standing in the roadway while carrying a shotgun.

That combination prompted a Misconduct Involving Weapons charge in the fourth degree, along with a Disorderly Conduct charge. Andrews was transported to Wildwood following his arrest.

Charges reported in Alaska State Troopers press releases are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
