ADF&G extends Northwest Stepovak commercial salmon fishing 48 hours

Commercial salmon fishing in the Northwest Stepovak Section was extended for 48 hours, from noon July 12 through noon July 14, giving purse seine and set gill net permit holders a short window to fish waters north of 55° 37.33' N latitude near Renshaw Point and west of 159° 52.00' W longitude at Dent Point. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game released the notice July 11, one day ahead of the opening, under Emergency Order #4-FS-M-SP-08-26.

The agency noted that standard closed waters remained in force throughout: "All closed waters in the above locations will be as described in the regulation book or as adjusted by emergency order." ADF&G broadcasts commercial salmon fishery announcements for the Sand Point area on VHF channels 6 and 73 at 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily.
