UIC approves a second 2026 shareholder trust payout, with the amount posted only on its portal

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation's board of directors has approved a special payout to UIC Shareholder Trust beneficiaries, the Utqiaġvik village corporation announced Thursday, Oct. 29. It is the second trust distribution this year, following the regular distribution paid earlier in 2026.

The public announcement does not say how much shareholders will get or when. The amount, the record date and the distribution date are available only through the UIC Shareholder Portal or from UIC Shareholder Services by phone or email. UIC serves more than 4,200 Iñupiat shareholders, according to the corporation.

"UIC's continued success allows us to deliver meaningful benefits to our shareholders, and this special trust distribution is another example of that commitment," said Dr. Pearl K. Brower, UIC president and CEO. Brower credited the corporation's employees, its "family of companies" and its board for another year of strong performance in 2026.

UIC has paid a special distribution at the end of the year before. In 2024 it paid a $24.71 regular distribution in June and a $20 special distribution in December, for a total of $44.71 per share that year, according to company announcements. In 2025 it paid a $27.24 regular distribution in June and announced a special one on Oct. 16, 2025, again with the amount posted only on the portal. UIC said its 2025 trust distributions were not considered taxable income.

The 2026 regular distribution announcement in March also sent shareholders to the portal for details.

Alaska News reported June 19 that UIC crossed $1 billion in annual revenue in 2025, the first time in the corporation's history.

UIC is asking shareholders to update their mailing addresses and direct deposit details through the portal so payments arrive on time.
