Troopers investigate death of Homer woman, 37, who collapsed in Anchor Point

Erin Kitchen, 37, of Homer died Monday night in Anchor Point after she collapsed and could not be revived, the Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers received a report at 8:32 pm that an adult woman in Anchor Point had collapsed and was unconscious. CPR was already underway when troopers and emergency medical services arrived. Efforts by people at the scene, EMS and troopers did not revive her, and Kitchen was pronounced deceased at 9:13 pm.

Troopers said Kitchen's remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner, which determines cause of death. Next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing, and the dispatch does not state a suspected cause.
