Troopers arrest Nikiski man on felony DUI charge after rollover on Nikiski Avenue

Alaska State Troopers arrested Steven Dillion Delavega, 31, of Nikiski, on a felony DUI charge late Tuesday after a pickup rolled on Nikiski Avenue and the driver fled.

Troopers responded at about 10:15 p.m. to the single-vehicle rollover, a blue 2006 Nissan Titan, and identified Delavega as the driver, per dispatch AK26094601. He was on court-ordered conditions of release, with electronic monitoring, and was tracked to a residence near Bernice Lake.

Troopers arrested him Sept. 16 near Island Lake Road, on a warrant for third- and fourth-degree assault and interfering with a domestic violence report, plus driving while revoked and unlawful contact with the victim, dispatch AK26092070 says. His license is revoked until 2065 over an earlier DUI.

The dispatch says he was driving impaired by alcohol and lists two prior DUI convictions and one felony DUI conviction. He faces felony DUI, driving while license revoked, failing to report the crash and violating release conditions. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty, and is held without bail at Wildwood Pretrial Facility pending arraignment.
