Alaska State Troopers arrested a 21-year-old Kotlik man on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and 14 other charges after a domestic disturbance in the village Thursday night.

Kotlik is a village of about 640 people in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, about 35 miles northeast of Emmonak, according to a state community profile.

Troopers got the report at 10:05 pm. Several people told troopers the man had assaulted a boy, stolen three guns and run away, according to the troopers' online dispatch.

Two other people, in separate reports, said the man ran up to them from the woods and pointed a shotgun at them. People also reported that he fired the shotgun around his home, troopers said.

Troopers from Emmonak went to Kotlik. After an investigation, they arrested the man and took him to the jail in Emmonak.

Besides the two attempted murder counts, he is charged with three counts of first-degree burglary, four counts of second-degree theft, three counts of third-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault. He is also charged with one count of second-degree terroristic threatening and two counts of assault in the presence of a child.

Troopers said the charges are accusations and the man is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
