Alaska State Troopers arrested a 21-year-old Kotlik man on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and 14 other charges after a domestic disturbance in the village Thursday night.

Troopers received the report at 10:05 pm. Several people told troopers the man had assaulted a male juvenile, stolen three firearms and fled, according to the troopers' Daily Dispatch report.

Two separate and unrelated people reported that the man ran up to them from the woods and pointed a shotgun at them. He was also reported to have been shooting the shotgun around his residence, troopers said.

Troopers from Emmonak traveled to Kotlik. After an investigation, they arrested the man and took him to the Emmonak Jail.

Along with the attempted murder counts, he is charged with three counts of first-degree burglary, four counts of second-degree theft, three counts of third-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault. He also faces one count of second-degree terroristic threatening and two counts of assault in the presence of a child.

Troopers say the charges are accusations and the man is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Filings in the case can be followed through the Alaska Court System case search.
