Soldotna man arrested on DUI and weapons charges after Ninilchik traffic stop
Alaska State Troopers received multiple Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately, or REDDI, complaints about a green Toyota SUV at 6:17 p.m. Saturday. Troopers found the vehicle near mile 140 of the Sterling Highway outside Ninilchik, watched it speeding and swerving, and stopped it, according to the trooper dispatch on the arrest, case AK26090759.
The driver, Denai Christopher Croley of Soldotna, showed signs of impairment and had a handgun in the vehicle, troopers said. Croley was arrested after performing standard field sobriety tests. Troopers took him to Homer Jail, where he was held on one count of driving under the influence and one count of fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons. Croley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The REDDI program asks drivers who see someone driving dangerously to call 911 and report it.
The dispatch includes no response from Croley.
