Sitka's Planning Office will be closed to the public for a full week.

The office shuts Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, and Monday, Sept. 7, is a municipal holiday. That makes five consecutive weekdays with no walk-ins and no answers by phone or email. Anyone who calls or writes during the closure can expect a reply the following week.

Staff will spend the four working days on code updates and land management actions.

Parks and Recreation and the Building Department stay open.
