Rural health transformation program set as keynote topic at Anchorage disability employment conference

The Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education holds its 2026 Employment First Conference on Oct. 12-13 at Anchorage's Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center, bringing together employers, job-support providers and people with disabilities entering the workforce.

Sessions cover workplace accommodations, youth transitions into work, disability benefits, labor-force data and health care workforce development, along with the Statewide Vocational Rehabilitation Committee's Business Awards. The keynote covers Alaska's $272 million in new federal rural health funding.
