Railbelt grid operator holds five subcommittee meetings in eight days

The Railbelt Transmission Organization packed five subcommittee meetings into eight days this month, tackling technical issues, tariffs, and finances between May 6 and May 14, according to public meeting notices.

The RTO's technical subcommittee met May 6 and May 13. The tariff subcommittee convened May 7 and May 14. The finance subcommittee met May 14.

The RTO manages the transmission grid connecting Anchorage, the Mat-Su, and Fairbanks. The organization is working on interconnection standards, rate structures, and transmission planning.

FAST Planning, Fairbanks's metropolitan planning body, scheduled three meetings at its Cushman Street office: a technical committee meeting May 6, a project enhancement committee meeting May 7, and a policy board session May 8, according to posted agendas.

The Board of Agriculture and Conservation posted notice of a May 19 meeting. The Department of Transportation posted notice of a Denali Area Airport Planning Study public meeting for May 27.
