Kuskokwim Corporation's Arviiq center delivers training eyed in 1998

Shareholders and community members across the Middle Kuskokwim now have access to GED prep, tutoring, trades training, workforce readiness services and industry certifications. The Kuskokwim Corporation says the programs run through its Arviiq Regional Economic Development and Training Center in Aniak.

In a release marking its 50th anniversary in 2026, TKC said economic diversification and workforce development became regional priorities in 1998, when plans began to take shape to seek funding for a training center. "Today, that vision is becoming a reality," the release said. The corporation said the programs help people "cut their own paths to success closer to home."

TKC's leaders brought 10 Middle Kuskokwim communities together 50 years ago. The release also cited land stewardship, cultural learning, the TKC Nau and TKC ROOTS leadership programs, and the corporation's early move to enroll descendants.
