Businesses and residents in Kipnuk have until Monday to apply for federal economic-injury loans tied to the severe storm and flooding that hit the village Aug. 16-18, 2024.
The Small Business Administration set the June 8 deadline for economic-injury applications. The deadline for physical-damage loans already passed Nov. 7, 2025. Economic-injury financing is the remaining option for affected households and businesses.
Tribal Council President Adolph J. Paul requested the federal disaster declaration after the storm. The presidential declaration, designated FEMA-4912-DR, covers Public Assistance for the Native Village of Kipnuk. The SBA approved low-interest disaster loans for businesses, nonprofits, and residents in the community.
Eligible applicants can apply online at the SBA disaster loan website.
