Fish and Game teams up with Arctic Entries for a night of wildlife storytelling

Alaska Fish and Game is inviting Alaskans to tell a true story about a wildlife encounter that changed their lives — and it's partnering with Arctic Entries, the beloved live-storytelling group, to do it. Alaskans have until Sept. 7 to submit a story or nominate a storyteller for "Shaped by Wildlife."

Those chosen will work with Arctic Entries coaches to shape seven-minute stories, then take the stage at the Glenn Massay Theater in Palmer on Friday, Nov. 13. The department is casting a wide net — hunters, gatherers, conservationists and anyone who simply loves the outdoors — for real, personal stories about the animals that have left a mark on their lives.

It's the second year for the event. The first, last October at the same theater, drew storytellers and artists from across the state — and even one Alaskan who now lives in Arizona. Recordings from that night are posted on the department's YouTube channel.
