Fairbanks Job Center to host job fair Sept. 24

Job seekers can meet employers Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Fairbanks Job Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced the fair Wednesday.

The Fairbanks center belongs to the Alaska Job Center Network, which operates alongside the AlaskaJobs online system. Unemployment insurance claimants must register in AlaskaJobs to keep their benefits. Browsing the portal as a guest does not meet that requirement.

The department also maintains a page of employment and training resources for residents of Alaska's western coast affected by the severe storms, flooding and remnants of Typhoon Halong. It covers unemployment filing, jobless rates, job center locations and virtual job fairs, and was last updated April 20, 2026.

The deadline to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance tied to the October 8-13, 2025, storms passed April 3, 2026. Eligible applicants could receive $153 to $370 per week for up to 27 weeks.
