Cook Inlet Tribal Council sets ARCTIC certification exam for Oct. 2 in Anchorage

Two career sessions at Cook Inlet Tribal Council this week

Alaska Native job seekers in Anchorage can complete two career sessions this week at Cook Inlet Tribal Council, 3600 San Jeronimo Drive: an entrepreneurship course on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 3:15 p.m., and the ARCTIC certification exam on Friday, Oct. 2, from 2 to 3 p.m.

ARCTIC, short for Alaska Readiness and Career Training for Indigenous Communities, is the council's soft-skills credential. CITC says it prepares participants with "the core soft skills Alaska employers expect, grounded in cultural values and real-world application." The credential rests on three pillars: Respect, Resilience and Interdependence. Thursday's course, Entrepreneurial Endeavors, frames business ownership "as a meaningful pathway to independence, leadership, and financial stability."
