Cook Inlet Tribal Council is offering two Career Skills classes that count toward its ARCTIC Workforce Certification. The one-hour Time Management course covers planning and prioritization tools, building realistic schedules and identifying distractions. The 90-minute Decision Making course aims to build participants' ability to problem-solve, think critically and make steady, reliable decisions on the job. The classes are open to anyone registered with CITC.

CITC ran other classes toward the same certification in September.

The classes are part of CITC's Career Development Center, open without appointment Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, on the second floor of the Nat'uh Service Center. The center also runs Disability Employment Services for Alaska Native and American Indian individuals 14 and older, with orientations every Tuesday at 1:30 pm. GED orientations meet Wednesdays at 1 pm.

CITC's Youth Supported Employment program offers paid 10- to 12-week internships, within CITC and with partner employers, for people 14 to 24. Orientation accommodations, including sign language interpreters, can be requested.
