CBP awards Teya Diversified $23.3 million for border port repairs

U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded Anchorage-based Teya Diversified Services LLC three contracts totaling $23,336,407, according to records dated Sept. 25. The contracts cover 397 construction-related repair tasks at land ports of entry along the U.S. northern border. The contract-level port counts add up to 31, though the records do not indicate whether the lists overlap or whether any tasks touch Alaska.

The largest, award 70B01C26C00000103, pays $9,061,660 for 164 tasks at 12 ports. A second contract covers 118 tasks at nine ports for $7,857,669, and a third covers 115 tasks at 10 ports for $6,417,078. Each contract runs through Sept. 24, 2027. The records do not state whether the contracts were competed or set aside.

Teya also received a separate $9,975,502 Immigration and Customs Enforcement award in September for caretaker maintenance. Alaska News has covered similar out-of-state work by Anchorage firms, including CCI Facility Contractors' $2.7 million repair order in Washington, D.C.

At a Commonwealth North panel on the federal 8(a) program in May, Kevin Berry located the return in ownership, saying: "to the extent that these ventures, these contracts are profitable, that's where we see money come into the Alaska economy."
