Anchorage airport says TSA wait times are back to seasonal normal

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport says TSA screening wait times have returned to their seasonal normal after earlier congestion at the security checkpoint.

The airport said Saturday that travelers should still arrive with enough time to park, check bags and clear security as summer passenger volumes increase. The airport advises passengers to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights to allow time for parking, check-in, TSA security screening and walking to the gate.

The update followed an earlier warning about longer TSA screening lines at the Anchorage airport. The airport's latest message did not identify a continuing disruption at the checkpoint.

For passengers, the practical advice is unchanged: build in extra time before departure, particularly during the busy summer travel season.
