Alaska State Museum sketching series returns Saturday with guest artist Alec Dye
Juneau artist Alec Dye opens the Alaska State Museum's fall and winter sketching series Saturday, Oct. 10. Dye shares a sketching process from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the museum, followed by open sketching.
Sketching in the Museum meets every second and fourth Saturday through the 2026-2027 season, with a different Juneau guest artist each session. Sessions are free for members and donation-based for non-members. No registration is required. Graphite, colored pencils, silverpoint, pens, pastels, watercolor and gouache are welcome.
The Friends of the Library, Archives and Museum sponsors the series with the museum.
The next session is Oct. 24. Winter hours run Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 and older, and free for ages 18 and younger.
Based on a press release from Alaska State Libraries.
