Alaska DOT&PF offers webinar on closing out contracts
The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities will teach disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) and airport concession disadvantaged business enterprise (ACDBE) firms how to close out government contracts in a webinar Thursday, Oct. 15, from 11 am to noon Alaska time over Zoom.
The department's Civil Rights Office, which runs the state's DBE and ACDBE programs, lists the training on its events page. "Contract closeout is a critical step in the contract lifecycle, yet it is often overlooked by businesses eager to move on to the next opportunity," the announcement said.
Jody King, assistant director of the Alaska APEX Accelerator, will lead the session. Topics include lien releases, confirming whether a payment is truly final, past-performance reporting, insurance and warranty requirements, record retention, and working with subcontractors and teaming partners.
The department bills it as the first in a quarterly training series. Registration is required through the department's Zoom sign-up page.
