Akiachak man faces 7 felony charges in Bethel sexual abuse case

Alaska State Troopers have arrested a 47-year-old Akiachak man on seven felony charges tied to the sexual abuse of a minor — and say they believe there are more victims. Lewis Lomack was arrested July 14 in Bethel, three days after a victim reported being assaulted. Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward, saying the investigation is ongoing.

The charges include first- and second-degree sexual abuse of a minor, sexual assault, and attempted sexual abuse, along with one count of interfering with official proceedings. The charges are accusations; Lomack is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
