We have heard from tribes that this can result in development delays and increased cost. The provisions in the reauthorization authorize one environmental review across projects with multiple federal funding sources, removing that redundancy. It also has several additional categorical exclusions on low-risk activities that pose little environmental impact but still require a lot of staff time and attention. The bill would right-size the review to, to look at the actual risk and speed up execution of those projects. I could go on.
