So we want to be clear that a yes on 2 vote would return Alaska to primary elections that are open to unaffiliated and independent voters. It's just false to say that this repeal will result in closed primaries. The United States Supreme Court, um, really put forth a, uh, clear explanation of what a closed primary is. I'm gonna read that to you here. A closed primary— this was in the year 2000— a closed primary is one in which only a political party's members can vote on its nominees.
