Our assessing department uses RentalScape primarily as a research tool when processing business personal property accounts for short-term rentals. Before RentalScape, we had to search individual sites like Airbnb or VRBO, going through hundreds of listings and trying to determine which properties were operating as short-term rentals. Rentalscape brings that information together for us and helps identify potential rentals in one place. For example, it may tell us there are 165 identified short-term rentals within 524 listings. We can then work through those properties and make sure that we have business personal property accounts for them.
