We come to this glacier as we're making our escape and the story goes that there were 6 canoes and 2 of them turned back and went over the mountains to the Nass River and began to settle down on the Nass. Two went north up toward Whitehorse and established clans up that way. The last two decided to give it a shot, and they, uh, they sent a log down the river with branches on it. One man climbed up over the top to see if the log came through with the branches still all sticking out. They knew it was big enough to send their canoes down the river, down under the glacier.
