For understanding it, it will be entirely sung in Tlingit, which is pretty exciting. It will be the first opera entirely sung in Tlingit. There will, however, be some things for most of the audience who won't understand fluent Tlingit. There will be a program which will show the summary of the entire thing, so you can follow scene by scene if you want, or read up on that real quick before the lights go down. We'll probably be putting something out online too.

At a Sealaska Heritage Institute panel Thursday in Juneau, a Kiks.ádi audience member asked how the institute handles clan-owned stories in the first Tlingit opera. SHI President Rosita Worl said the war story belongs to all clans and the Haidas because all united to fight.
