We request the commission replace the draft Resolution 2613 with a resolution that recommends the south route My wife Patricia's family owns the property along 1.5 miles of the North Route. This land is homesteaded by Patty's grandfather in 1915 and is being used and developed for agriculture and wildlife habitat uses. We've cleared and installed 4.5 miles of fences and constructed 2 bridges for livestock movement and protection of Wasilla Creek. The proposed North Route will significantly impact the use of this land. Please refer to my, Patty's July 27th letter and attached.
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Planning Commission voted down its staff's recommended northern alignment for the Engstrom Road to Trunk Road connector Monday and adopted a substitute resolution backing a southern route estimated at about $9 million, after testimony on cost, safety and property rights.
