“We typically don't look at RentalScape at the beginning of summer and then again in September, and because of that, I don't know if we are missing short-term rentals that only operate during the summer tourist season, which could mean we're missing potential business, um, personal property accounts.”

From the transcript
There have been times when a taxpayer has actually shown us their Airbnb or their VRBO information, and we found that Rentalscape information wasn't correct or was outdated. So we don't treat it as if it's a final answer. We use it as a tool to help us find potential accounts and then verify the information ourselves. Another thing I realized when preparing this report is that we may have a gap in our process. We typically don't look at RentalScape at the beginning of summer and then again in September, and because of that, I don't know if we are missing short-term rentals that only operate during the summer tourist season, which could mean we're missing potential business, um, personal property accounts.
