Vehicle incident closes a lane on Richardson Highway at mile 89

Drivers on the Richardson Highway near mile marker 89 face flagger-controlled traffic Thursday after a vehicle incident closed a lane in both directions.

Alaska 511 logged the closure at 9:56 a.m. Thursday and lists a planned end time of 3 p.m. The highway is not fully closed. The traveler-information system reported no data on which specific lanes are affected. The event card was last updated at 9:59 a.m.

Flaggers are on scene controlling traffic through the site. The notice asks motorists to use caution in the area.

Alaska News previously covered a single-vehicle crash and fire at milepost 210 on June 28 that left a driver in critical condition and closed the highway for about two and a half hours.
