Trump says China agreed to buy 200 Boeing planes, up to 750 total

President Donald Trump said China agreed to buy at least 200 Boeing commercial aircraft, with a promise of up to 750 planes if the initial order performs well, during remarks to reporters aboard Air Force One after leaving Beijing.

"We made a lot of great trade deals, including over 200 planes from Boeing with a promise of 750 planes, which will be by far the largest order ever if they do a good job with the 200, which I'm sure they will," Trump said. He added that China would purchase approximately 400 to 450 General Electric aircraft engines as part of the broader aviation agreement.

Trump characterized the Boeing aircraft pledge as part of broader trade deals made during his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. "We had an amazing time. It was a very historic couple of days," Trump said, praising his relationship with Xi.

Trump did not provide detailed order information or specify delivery timelines for the aircraft or engines during the Air Force One remarks. At the time, there had been no independent official announcement detailing firm aircraft purchase contracts corresponding to the pledged Boeing orders.
