Troopers report three domestic violence arrests in Wasilla over two days

Alaska State Troopers arrested three Wasilla residents on domestic violence charges over two days, including one case in which a woman faces four counts of assault in the presence of a child. All three are held without bail at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Rhonda Peters, 33, of Wasilla was arrested early Friday after MATCOM Dispatch received a report of an assault off East Bogard Road at about 2:53 a.m. Troopers charged her with fourth-degree assault involving domestic violence, four counts of assault in the presence of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Troopers responded to a disturbance on Kenlar Road at about 1:30 p.m. Friday and arrested Jamie Wakefield of Wasilla. Troopers said probable cause was developed for fourth-degree assault involving domestic violence. No child-related charges were filed in that case.

Tyler Smith, 35, of Wasilla was arrested Thursday after troopers responded to a disturbance near South Turner Drive. He faces two counts of fifth-degree criminal mischief involving domestic violence under state statute.

The charges are accusations. Each defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
