Troopers arrest Wasilla man on warrants totaling 18 felony counts

Alaska State Troopers arrested William Paterson Jr., 44, of Wasilla on Sept. 9 on two warrants carrying a combined 18 felony counts of theft, burglary and fraudulent use of an access device, a card or account number.

The Mat-Su Criminal Suppression Unit, working with Palmer AST Patrol, contacted Paterson at a Wasilla residence at about 5 p.m., troopers said. The unit had asked the public for help finding him on Aug. 8, after missing him at a Palmer residence and arresting an alleged accomplice, Sabreena Brewer, in a December 2025 storage-unit burglary.

The first warrant listed seven felonies, four counts of second-degree theft and three of fraudulent use of an access device, plus three misdemeanor counts of third-degree theft, with bail set at $100. The second listed 11 felonies, one count of second-degree burglary and 10 of second-degree theft, with bail set at $500. Troopers also charged Paterson in a separate case with second-degree burglary and theft, and remanded him to Mat-Su Pretrial.

The charges are accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
