Troopers arrest North Pole man accused of throwing rocks at cars on Badger Road

Alaska State Troopers arrested a North Pole man on Friday, July 31, after they saw him throwing rocks at passing cars near Badger Road and Endecott Avenue, troopers said. He then threw rocks at patrol cars as troopers tried to speak with him, according to the dispatch. Troopers arrested him at the scene.

Troopers identified the man as Jonathan Moreland, 23, of North Pole. He is charged with two counts of third-degree assault, a felony, along with third-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, and a probation violation, according to the trooper dispatch posted by D Detachment.

Moreland was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. The facility holds pretrial and sentenced prisoners from Fairbanks and Interior Alaska.
