Sitka to close downtown Lincoln Street for Halloween trick-or-treating
Sitka will close Lincoln Street between Lake and Katlian streets from 3 to 6 pm Saturday, Oct. 31, for the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event, the city said in a public service announcement.
Trick-or-treating runs from 4 to 6 pm, according to the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce, which supports the event and lists it as free and open to everyone.
Cars left inside the closure won't be allowed to move until pedestrians have cleared and it's safe, the city said. Police will try to reach the owners of vehicles parked there before the event starts, by phone when they have a number.
Based on a press release from City and Borough of Sitka.
