Sitka names sole finalist for municipal administrator, schedules public receptions

Jenny Alber is the sole finalist in Sitka's search for its next municipal administrator. The City and Borough of Sitka Assembly has scheduled two public receptions for residents to meet her before a hiring decision is made.

The Assembly interviewed three candidates April 9 at Harrigan Centennial Hall: Alber, Steven Dahl, and Matthew Zeke Jackson. The position was posted in December 2025 and remains open until filled.

The municipal administrator serves as Sitka's chief administrative officer, responsible for planning, organizing, and managing day-to-day borough operations for a community of 8,458 residents. The annual salary is $200,000, negotiable depending on qualifications.

Two receptions are scheduled at Harrigan Centennial Hall, 330 Harbor Drive. The first runs Sunday, July 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. The second runs Monday, July 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. Both sessions give community members a chance to ask questions and learn more about the candidate.
