Sealaska board approves $9.5 million fall shareholder distribution, payable Nov. 12
Sealaska's board of directors has approved a $9.5 million fall distribution to shareholders, the corporation announced Friday. Payment is set for Thursday, Nov. 12.
Shareholders who need to change a mailing address or bank account have until Monday, Nov. 9, to do so. They can check or update their information by logging in to MySealaska.com, and the corporation said signing up for direct deposit is the fastest way to get paid.
Sealaska has also posted a list of shareholders with missing or outdated mailing addresses. It asked people who recognize a name on the list to reach out and encourage that person to update their information so they can receive their payment on time.
The payout draws on dividends from Sealaska's operations and the Marjorie V. Young Permanent Fund, according to the corporation's announcement. Shareholders with Class B or C shares also receive Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Section 7(i) natural resource revenue sharing funds.
Sealaska pays the taxes tied to these distributions. The corporation said it paid $1.5 million in taxes on shareholder distributions in 2026.
Friday at 4:30 pm AKST was the record date, the last chance for ownership changes, including estate settlements and stock gifts, to count toward this payment. It was also the deadline for descendant enrollment applications to be submitted and approved in time for this distribution.
This fall's payment is smaller than last year's. Sealaska's fall 2025 distribution totaled $11.8 million and was paid in November 2025. Its spring 2026 distribution totaled $29.7 million, including $3 million from ocean-health operations, $3.6 million from the Marjorie V. Young Permanent Fund and $23.1 million in Section 7(j) revenue-sharing funds.
Sealaska reported more than 22,000 shareholders in a 2019 distribution announcement.
