Pedestrian dies after being struck by two vans on Glenn Highway near Boniface
A pedestrian died Tuesday morning after being struck by two vans on the Glenn Highway near Boniface Parkway, according to an Anchorage Police Department statement.
Police responded at about 8:48 a.m. May 26 to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian, an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Evidence at the scene indicated the man was crossing the highway when he was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet Express van, then struck by a 2009 Chevrolet Express van, police said.
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said there were no citations or charges as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Anchorage Police Department's Major Collision Investigation Unit is investigating. Police said the man's identity will be released after next-of-kin notification procedures are complete.
