Olgoonik original shareholders 60 and older to receive $1,250 by Oct. 23
Olgoonik Corporation's original shareholders age 60 and older will receive $1,250 each from the Olgoonik Settlement Trust by Oct. 23, 2026. The corporation asks those elders to confirm, before Oct. 9, the address and payment information it will use to send the money.
The Olgoonik Corporation Board of Directors authorized the Elder Distribution at its September quarterly meeting in Wainwright, according to the corporation's announcement. Recipients must be living and at least 60 years old by Sept. 24. They must also have been issued 100 shares of Settlement Common Stock, the shares Alaska Native corporations issued to their enrolled members. That covers shares from the original issuance under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and shares issued to missed enrollees, people left off the original rolls. The corporation said a living shareholder over 60 who was issued 100 shares of Class A stock generally qualifies, no matter how many of those shares the person still holds.
Olgoonik paid $1,250 elder distributions in 2023, 2024 and 2025. The corporation's shareholder stock handbook says the board considers a special elder distribution each year based on its assessment of the corporation's financial health. The Settlement Trust was created after a 2019 shareholder vote and is a separate legal entity with its own board of trustees. It is funded by transfers from the corporation when the board authorizes a benefit.
Payments go out by check or direct deposit, based on what is on file. Shareholders can check their mailing address and banking information by registering for the new MyOlgoonik.com portal or by calling the front desk. The Stock Department takes questions at 907-562-8728 in Anchorage and at [email protected].
