North Slope gas pipeline rates proposed to increase Aug. 1 under RCA filing

Oliktok Pipeline Company is seeking Regulatory Commission of Alaska approval for higher intrastate transportation rates on the Oliktok Gas Pipeline starting August 1, 2026, under a new tariff filing.

The filing, based on a 2025 test year, replaces an earlier tariff. Under the proposed rates, shippers moving gas from the Prudhoe Bay Unit would pay $0.914 per thousand standard cubic feet to the Gas Hydrates Project, $1.464 to the Gas Spur Pipeline, and $1.528 to the Kuparuk River Unit. Directly affected parties are North Slope producers and working-interest owners. Residential and small-business consumers may not see an immediate change in delivered-gas prices, as the Oliktok Gas Pipeline serves upstream production interests rather than direct retail consumers.

"Oliktok requests that the Commission approve the proposed rates effective August 1, 2026. Should the Commission suspend TL57-334, Oliktok requests the proposed rates be approved on a temporary and refundable basis," the company said.

The RCA has set a public comment deadline of 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2026, at rca.alaska.gov, referencing TL57-334.
