NIH orders $2.1 million in statistical support from Anchorage's Coho Consulting
The National Institutes of Health on Thursday ordered $2.14 million in statistical support from Coho Consulting Group LLC, an Anchorage small business, for the agency's Division of Population Health Research, according to the USAspending.gov award record. The division is part of NIH's child health institute, which the record lists as the funding office.
The award is a delivery order, which draws on an existing contract rather than creating a new one. Only small businesses could compete for it, and the record shows one offer. The work runs from Oct. 19 through Oct. 18, 2027. The record lists a potential end date in 2030, with the same total value as the amount obligated so far.
The record lists Bethesda, Maryland, as the place of performance. It does not say where the statisticians doing the work will be based.
Coho holds a General Services Administration contract, according to a GSA contractor listing. USAspending's breakdown of the firm's awards by agency shows about $48.9 million from the Department of Defense, $9 million from the Department of State and $2.4 million from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Coho is one of the Copper River companies, which are wholly owned by the Native Village of Eyak, a federally recognized tribe, and exist to provide it revenue, according to Coho's website. The award record lists the firm as a tribally owned firm and an 8(a) Program participant.
Alaska News has also reported on NIH contracts to Olgoonik General, another Anchorage firm, for campus maintenance in Bethesda.
