Man dies entrapped in heavy equipment on Goldridge Drive in Fairbanks

A man died on Goldridge Drive in Fairbanks after becoming entrapped in heavy equipment, Alaska State Troopers said. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene. The Department of Public Safety's D Detachment lists the death date as Sept. 29 in case AK26094402, but the dispatch carries a Sept. 22 posting timestamp. Troopers have not explained the discrepancy.

Troopers have not released the man's name or age, the type of equipment involved, or any employer. The dispatch does not say whether the death happened at a worksite. The investigation is continuing, and no cause has been released.

Alaska employers must report a workplace death to Alaska Occupational Safety and Health within eight hours. Whether that requirement applies here is not known.
