Kadiak takes a $4.45 million State Department IT contract

An Anchorage company will run IT support for the State Department bureaus that handle the Middle East and South Asia.

Kadiak, a Koniag subsidiary, takes a $4,452,063 contract covering the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, which runs relations from Morocco to Iran, and the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, which covers India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Central Asian states. The work starts Sept. 28 and runs a year.

Kadiak sits under Koniag Government Services, part of the regional corporation for the Kodiak area. Its main line of business is computer services.

The federal record leaves out most of what would make this legible. It does not say whether the contract was competed or awarded without competition, does not name a previous contractor, and does not say where the work will be performed. Nor does it say how much of the labor will happen in Alaska.
