Citizen board that advises on Kachemak Bay State Park meets Nov. 10 in Homer
The citizen board that advises the state on Kachemak Bay State Park meets Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Homer, and people can attend in person or online or send comments by email, according to a state public notice.
The Kachemak Bay State Park Citizen Advisory Board's 13 public members collect opinions and make recommendations on state park units in the Kachemak Bay watershed. The board doesn't make decisions.
It has weighed in at the Capitol. In March, the board's chair told the state House Resources Committee that the board fully supported a bill to simplify and modernize the laws for critical habitat areas, including Kachemak Bay, and update their boundaries. He said the board had discussed personal watercraft extensively.
The meeting runs 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the seminar room at the Islands and Ocean Visitor Center. Written comments emailed beforehand, with the board's name in the subject line, are forwarded to members, the notice says.
The board usually meets the second Wednesday of the month from September through May. Recordings and minutes of past meetings are posted online.
